Position Summary

Level: Solution Delivery Advisor

Work you’ll do:

As a Microsoft 365 Security Consultant, you will be at the front lines with our clients supporting them with their Cyber needs specifically helping them navigate the journey on securing their Microsoft 365 (M365) platform. This will include:

• Serve as an engineer/consultant for Microsoft security technologies including Purview, Intune, Sentinel, Security Copilot, Entra ID, Defender for Office, Defender for Endpoints and Servers, Defender for Vulnerabilities, Defender for Cloud Apps, Defender XDR, and SCCM.
• Conduct cloud security analysis, provide recommendations, and configure client environments for Microsoft Entra ID, Office 365, Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive for Business, and SharePoint Online, following Deloitte’s Microsoft 365 Cyber Risk Framework.
• Perform technical health checks for M365 platforms prior to deployments and support proof-of-concept and production rollouts of cloud security technologies.
• Assist clients with transitions to Microsoft 365 security services, including solution setup, service configuration, and risk mitigation for technologies such as MFA, Conditional Access, Purview Compliance Manager, M365 Defender, Defender for O365, Defender for Cloud Apps, Purview Information Protection, and Data Loss Prevention.
• Configure and deliver cloud security and compliance reports for clients.
• Provide technical support for M365 E5 security services, resolving issues through research, troubleshooting, and collaboration with Microsoft.
• Apply industry-leading practices for M365 cyber risk management, including policy development, incident response, data protection, access control, auditing, monitoring, and identity management.
• Troubleshoot system-level problems in multi-vendor, multi-protocol network environments.
• Document technical issues, analysis, client communications, and resolutions as part of cyber risk mitigation.
• Support M365 security engagements across all phases: Discover, Assess, Design, Deploy/Test, and Hypercare/Handover.
• Provide internal technical training to Advisory personnel as needed.
• Develop subject matter expertise in cloud cyber risk for Microsoft Purview, Intune, Defender, and Sentinel.
• Contribute to Points-of-View (PoVs) by sharing leading practices and insights on M365 security challenges.

Examples of work include Secure by Design, Cloud Security Orchestration & Automation, Core Infrastructure Security, and Secure Software Enablement. Deloitte Cyber team helps complex organizations more confidently pursue their growth, innovation and performance agendas through proactive management of the associated cyber risks. Our professionals provide advisory and implementation services that integrate risk, regulatory, and technology skills to help clients transform their legacy programs into proactive Secure.Vigilant.Resilient.TM cyber programs. Cloud Infrastructure supports organizations through the complete cycle of migrating business processes to the cloud, with capabilities and solutions focused on development, transformation, and resilience of cloud security.

Qualifications

Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:

Working experience in at least two of the areas listed below.

• 3+ years of experience in technical consulting, client problem solving, architecting and designing solutions in a consulting role
• 3+ years of hands-on technical experience with Microsoft 365 enterprise-level messaging and collaboration services (Teams, OneDrive for Business, Exchange Online, Entra ID, SharePoint Online, O365 administration and setup) in implementation and operations.
• 3+ years of hands-on technical and project / professional experience in following technologies:
• Entra ID (Azure AD), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, Microsoft Purview, Defender for Office 365, Exchange Online protection, Defender for Endpoints/Servers, Intune, SCCM, MEM, Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, Defender for Identify, Defender for Vulnerability Management, Defender for XDR, Security Copilot, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Defender for Cloud Apps and Power Platform.
• Experience in diagnosing service disruptions, access failures (e.g., widespread MFA outages), and policy misconfigurations.
• Utilize break-glass accounts and emergency procedures to restore access during global outages or lockouts.
• Ideally the following technical experience is a plus in any of the technologies below:
• Microsoft Security Copilot,Defender for Vulnerabilities
• Defender for Cloud Apps
• Defender XDR
• SCCM
  
  

Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:

• Microsoft Certifications such as: (SC-900, SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, SC-400),
• Cyber Certifications such as: CCSP, CCSK, CISSP, CCNP, and CCNA.
  
  

Education:

• BA/BS Degree preferred. Ideally in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security, Engineering, Information Technology.
