Financial management is crucial to the performance and success of any company. The roles and responsibilities of the Coursera Finance team include accounting, financial reporting, analysis, planning, budgeting, and compliance. Coursera is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Travel and Expense (T&E) Analyst to join our growing Finance team.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our day-to-day T&E operations, including overseeing expense policies, analyzing data and trends, preparing insightful reports, administering the Global Corporate Credit Card program, and supporting month-end close activities.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, analytical, and proactive, with a strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with company policies, deliver exceptional employee support, and continuously improve our T&E processes to enhance efficiency and financial accuracy.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain global Travel and Expense (T&E) policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with company standards, SOX compliance, and local regulatory requirements across U.S. and international subsidiaries.
- Oversee and administer the travel management platform, ensuring accuracy of employee profiles, supporting system enhancements, and coordinating with internal stakeholders for continuous improvement.
- Manage the corporate travel credit card program, including reconciliations, verification of statements and receipts, resolving discrepancies, and investigating unauthorized or non-compliant transactions.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of expense reports to ensure accuracy, policy adherence, and financial accountability, while providing guidance and training to employees on expense tools, policies, and best practices.
- Monitor and analyze travel and expense data to identify spending trends, ensure compliance, and recommend cost-saving opportunities or process improvements.
- Support month-end close activities, including accruals, credit card reconciliations, and reporting related to employee expenses across global entities.
- Respond to inquiries and requests through the ServiceNow ticketing system, delivering timely and effective support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and initiatives related to T&E and Accounts Payable (AP), contributing to process optimization and operational efficiency globally.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in Travel and Expense (T&E) management, Accounts Payable, or a similar finance operations role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with T&E systems and tools, such as Workday Expenses and AMEX GBT-Egencia.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and workflows while maintaining accuracy and operational continuity across multiple functions.
- Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and flexibly support both Accounts Payable and T&E activities across U.S. and international subsidiaries.
- Flexibility to work across global time zones, with a willingness to adjust working hours as needed to support cross-functional teams and stakeholders in different regions.
- Customer Service Orientation – Demonstrates a strong customer service mindset, providing timely support and clear guidance to employees. Strives to create a positive employee experience and enhance overall satisfaction with the company’s travel and expense management process.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related area of study
- Experience with Netsuite, Coupa, Workday Expenses, Service Now and Egencia
