SW Developer/Engineer (Android)

What's the role?

As an Android developer, you will be part of a highly professional and international team of architects, engineers, and business counterparts. Together with other developers, you will work on SaaS products developed by Hilti to improve the productivity of construction companies. You will empower us to find the right balance between innovation, technical feasibility, long-term sustainability, agile delivery, and cost- effective end-to-end implementations. In our cross-functional team, you can push the limits of IT solutions to define visionary, ground-breaking products, and demonstrate an ability to work within a fast-moving

What does the role involve?

• As a developer you will translate business requirements into technical design & solutions and ensure high quality, on-time implementations.
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
• Unit/Component test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
• Take ownership of the features assigned right from estimating timelines to Production release.
• Interact with various teams (Microservices, Web etc.) to ensure mobile app related requirements are delivered by the various stack teams in the agile framework.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development

What You Need Is

• Bachelors or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science or other technical related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience as a Mobile application developer with a working experience on Android development. Familiarity with iOS development is an added advantage.
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Knowledge of mobile design principles and interface guidelines. Expertise in development and implementation of mobile applications with custom UI components.
• Profound knowledge of Android SDK. Experience with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Room DB.
• Solid foundation of functional programming, design patterns, and software designing and architecture best practices
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
• Ability to lead and define the technical strategy in areas like architecture, testing, performance, CI/CD.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring software engineers.
• Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills. Willingness to embrace change & new technologies.
• Excellent communication skills, customer-oriented thinking, along with a strong drive for success and a high level of commitment
• Proficiency in English and willingness to travel internationally
