Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned suppliers to meet Cummins’ quality performance requirements.
- Drive and support supplier improvement programs and corrective actions.
- Communicate and monitor supplier work plans; conduct performance reviews with leadership.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers, engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing teams.
- Apply APQP, AIAG tools, and Cummins-specific methodologies to improve supplier manufacturing processes.
- Participate in and lead low-complexity supplier audits and quality issue resolutions.
- Support root cause analysis and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Lead quality planning and improvement processes for low-risk product types or supplier segments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications in Quality Management, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred), or auditing are advantageous.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

- Auditing: Applies auditing techniques to assess supplier processes and compliance.
- Technical Interpretation: Understands GD&T and engineering drawings for manufacturability.

- Measurement Systems: Develops reliable measurement systems aligned with industry standards.
- Problem Solving: Leads structured problem-solving efforts and mentors others.
- Quality Influence: Engages stakeholders to ensure quality priorities are met.
- Quality Standards: Applies ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 standards effectively.
- Statistical Foundations: Uses data-driven insights to drive quality improvements.
- Supplier Performance Improvement: Executes strategies to enhance supplier quality.
- Project Planning: Leads APQP-based quality planning for supplier programs.
- Values Differences: Embraces diverse perspectives and cultural backgrounds.
- Supplier Product Reliability: Evaluates supplier capabilities to meet reliability expectations.
Skills
- Proficient in APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, and process capability analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, DMAIC).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with global teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with quality tools and statistical analysis.
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in supplier quality or a related quality function.
- Proven track record of managing supplier relationships and driving quality improvements.
