Position Summary

Position Summary and Location:

  • In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient scheduling and execution of offshore inspection activities for pressure systems, pipelines, and structures. This position is responsible for aligning inspection plans with integrated strategies, optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. Success in this role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to drive continuous improvements in offshore inspection planning.
  • This position is based in Chandigarh/ Pune
  • Our hybrid/remote work model offers the flexibility to work from home, allowing you to balance personal and professional life. Please note that the first 6 months will require working from the office
  • Ability to travel domestically and overseas up to 25% of the year

Duties And Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential

  • Develop project and inspection plans based on requirements and best practices.
  • Identify scheduling process gaps and implement improvements.
  • Develop and adopt standardized Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) within project plans.
  • Ensure effective planning for all inspection activities, including Pressure Systems, Pipelines, and Structures.
  • Align the Maintenance Management System (MMS) to ensure Planned Maintenance (PMs) and Work Orders (WOs) are scheduled and monitored appropriately.
  • Update scheduled start and finish dates in MMS to align with planned inspection visits.
  • Engage with the Oceaneering Project team to ensure relevant gate criteria are met.
  • Liaise with the Client’s Planning Department to update gate compliance and integrate inspection activities into offshore planning.
  • Lead and maintain scheduling and capacity planning across departments.
  • Monitor project progress, review forecasts, and ensure proactive mitigation of scheduling conflicts.
  • Provide impact analysis and recommendations for schedule revisions, personnel adjustments, and budgetary allocations.
  • Work closely with Inspection Engineers and Engineering Assistants to maintain visibility of planned and completed inspections.
  • Develop innovative solutions to optimize project efficiency.
  • Organize and maintain meeting agendas with Project Managers and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare detailed plans, time-scaled charts, and reports to communicate progress and issues.
  • Ensure Operations Managers and Team Leaders are informed of relevant project communications.
  • Attend technical and operational meetings as required.
  • Maintain planning documentation and champion best practices.
  • Train and coach team members on project scheduling tools and software.
  • Advocate for project scheduling best practices and methodology across teams.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred in Mechanical or allied branch)
  • Minimum industrial experience of 7-10 years, out of which minimum 4 years of relevant project planning/scheduling experience in Inspection related activities in offshore Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Working knowledge of Project Management aids/applications as well as basic Microsoft applications

DESIRED

  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6, MS project.
  • Project Management qualification / certification

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics

  • Experience in Project Planning within the engineering arena (E)
  • Experience in inspection/ integrity arena (P)
  • Familiarity with ACET/Nexus or other databases and other discipline specific software (E)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • MMS Systems (MAXIMO, SAP etc.)
  • Ability to generate a team approach to problem solving (E)
  • Good communicator both written and verbal (E)
  • Good client or support contractor relationship skills at various levels of seniority or diverse cultures (E)

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place
  • Work surface is stable (flat)
