Purpose of the Position

Expertise in cooling system design, development and systemic interaction expert with strong domain knowledge especially for Passenger car segment. Key Knowledge areas of commodities like Radiators, Coolant Hoses, Cooling schematics and Expansion Tanks for ICE.

To manage and coordinate all activities of powertrain cooling system development of IC Engine & hybrid vehicle to meet current & future Indian product and manufacturing requirements.

Authority

• Plan and execute development and validation of responsible components to achieve project milestones
• Raise Aeko’s, Change requests, Deviation permits
• Create design proposals and Resolve technical issues
• BMG release recommendation
• Ensure observance of the project time line and mile stones for the parts in his responsibility.
  
  

Skills Required

• Able to design & develop Powertrain Cooling system for IC engines, hybrid vehicles & knowledge of it’s relevant parts, cooling simulation, hands on cooling system testing.
• Self-starting, self-motivation, working with little guidance with good analytical skills.
• Ability to think in a wider scope, ability to plan and develop a structure.
• Excellent communication skills, English in written and verbal form, German / Czech Language Proficiency would be an added advantage.
• Deep Technical analysis, problem solving and understanding of Engine components and systems, including associated development and validation testing
• A Deep understanding of Indian Automobile market, vehicles, customer, product and manufacturing requirements and an ability to motivate and reason for it.
• Project and Time Management along with Quality Consciousness.
  
  

Responsibilities And Tasks

• Design & develop the powertrain cooling system & its relevant parts of IC engine, hybrid vehilce to meet the performance as well as the emission norms
• Coordinate with testing team for bench level testing of relevant parts
• Coordinate with purchase, Quality & suppliers for manufacturability & other relevant issues
• Analyze problems; propose the measures and Support for Quality issues
• Documentation management (Part list Management; Creation of Aeko’s, Deviation Permits, program points, TPB, Change requests, Bill of material). Evaluation of all ECR related to engine components & systems which are of relevance to cars in India.
• Creation and support for presentation of status sheets in Pilot hall, Presentation of project status in various forums, Project time line and project monitoring till BMG.
• Be a communication link for Data and Information Exchange between R & D SK/VW and various agencies of VW India like Purchase, SRM, Program Management, logistics, Assembly, Production, and outside VW India like suppliers, NSC, test agency etc.
• Homologation support to whole vehicle department related to Air intake components & System.
• Supplier scouting and evaluation of R&D capability of the potential suppliers
