Responsibilities

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who want to work in a startup-like environment and enjoy tough challenges. You will partner with key Azure platform teams to create products that enable customers to adopt Azure to host their network infrastructure and operations. Our market opportunity is huge, and our team is expanding.

As a Software Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for developing systems focused on Quality and Fundamentals to create highly reliable products for customers that operate on world class edge-based scenarios. You will collaborate across the organization to meet the demands of scale, elasticity, latency, and reliability required by our customers. You will have opportunities to learn new technologies and design the next version of services adapting to hardware evolution. You will have the freedom to ideate, create and provide thought leadership in bringing innovation to our products and engineering practices and tremendous opportunities to grow into a senior technical leader in the organization.

You Will

• Develop systems and frameworks to enhance the quality and fundamentals of the systems. Utilize AI and advanced telemetry to generate insights and improve the overall quality of the product.
• Creates and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.
• Contributes to identification of dependencies, efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items to bring clarity and provide estimation.
• Independently create a clear and articulated plan for testing and assuring quality of solutions.
• Build automation to prevent and/or remediate service problems from becoming production incidents
• Build strong cross group collaboration with other cross-geo teams to remove blockers and drive for comprehensive end-end service delivery
• Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems.
• Act as a DRI for release management, ensure the release sticks to the schedule by identifying reasons for blockers/delays, improve the signals that are blocking deployments, triage the issues are new vs existing, mitigate and work towards improving the release process.
• Remains current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
  
  

Qualifications

Qualifications Required :

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, or Rust.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 1 to 3 year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, or Rust.
• OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, or Rust.
• OR equivalent experience.
• Experience with improving service operations or engineering quality and fundamentals.
• Ability to learn and grasps concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Great problem-solving skills and outstanding drive for results
• Commitment to collaboration and teamwork and ability to deliver via influence
• Self-starter, who proactively identifies problems and drives for resolution
• Experience with containers, Kubernetes, Helm charts
• Experience with Micro services development
• Experience with .NET, C#, Golang
