OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

• QCD of site within scope of responsibility
• Overheads/Opex of Department
• KPI: Capacity /workload management – People Utilization, Productivity improvement, tools management, Internal & External Demerits, Cost of Non-Quality from Rework time and material, First Yield Pass at testing & final quality control, Customer Service Level – Delivery Performance, MPS Accuracy (%)
  
  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Successfully deploy best–practices to reach world–class excellence in Production; implementation of Lean Manufacturing
• Fulfill Production objectives.
• Define management of Production organization (planning, manufacturing, testing, logistics, quality inspection, industrialization, etc).
• To deploy Industrial Strategies in-line with Product Line Management Committee decisions
• Contribute to process improvement during the serial production.
• Participate in the investment/budget planning.
• Anticipation, proactivity & reactivity for issues.
• Promote the correct environmental management, in order to assure the treatment of wastes, atmospheric emissions within instructions of Environmental Department.
• Maintain a safe working environment for employees and sub–contractors in–line with Sector EHS Policy.
• Manage Manufacturing subcontractors.
• To Lay out in close relationship with Industrialization
• Active Participation during New Product Introduction (NPI) along with Industrialization & Transfer of technology
• Capturing of Return of experience (REX) from Shop floor on quality and productivity aspects
• Workforce Management and Planning as per Site Sales & Operations plan (Long term production planning)
• Participate and support Site PDP on weekly basis to define production plan for 1 + 4 weeks horizon. (Medium + Short Term production planning)
• Ensure that the function is resourced adequately, in terms of number of people and skills.
• Management, evolution, integration & development of team
• Competency Mapping followed by detailed training plan with effectiveness check.
• Provide effective mentoring and coaching to direct reports in order to achieve function objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement in the fields of productivity and quality.
• Support Repair Activity and issues coming from Customer
• Manage the department KPIs.
• Lead WPOs in meeting their QCD commitments.
• Ensure WPOs have the resources they require to meet their QCD commitments.
• Be responsible for the correct implementation for APSYS pertaining to Manufacturing domain
• Serial testing –
• Ensure the test cells are maintained well with good level of Safety and 5s and OEE of all test benches are monitored and maintained on target
• Applying inspection methods and techniques to examine and evaluate the quality of work and materials, and to detect deviations from project specifications, and standard maintenance practices.
• Identify resource and equipment requirements to efficiently plan the capacity
• Preparing CONQ based on the defects found during testing and monitoring the rework/replacement required etc.
  
  

Knowledge & Desired Experience

• Full time BE / B.Tech – ECE/EEE/Mech with 15-18 Years of experience in Manufacturing in OEM / Tier1 Industries
• Experience in Mechanical /Electrical & Electronic equipment’s is essential.
• Knowledge of Traction Drives / Switchgear products desirable.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma tools are essential
• Interpersonal Skills, Effective Communication & Decision making essential.
• Experience in Quality Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems & Good industrial safety practices and its effectiveness in day to day working.
