Senior Project/Program Manager

What You'll Do

The Senior Project Manager for the Global Operations (GO) organization will ensure a high degree of integrity and lead strategic project execution and alignment with functional teams. This role reports to the Chief of Staff to the President of Avalara. the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for a broad range of activities including project management of critical cross-functional initiatives, including establishing processes and rigor around tracking and measuring success and integrating best practices in business analytics and project management.

The Senior Project Manager will need to possess outstanding thought leadership, strategic thinking, analytical and organizational skills, and will have a proven record of excellence, operating independently and thriving within a high performing team environment. Highly motivated self-starter who can lead projects with limited guidance. Ability to proactively anticipate needs and take action to support what is in the best interest of the business.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; 6+ years of professional work experience in project and/or program management
• Experience in banking or investment analytics
• Positive, inquisitive, and collaborative disposition
• Experience working with global Fortune 500 or Fortune 1000 organizations in a similar role
• Excellent writing and PowerPoint design skills demonstrated through requested samples
• Strong technical skills in tools such as MS PowerPoint, SharePoint, Slack, Power BI, Zoom, Outlook, Confluence etc.
• Attention to detail, time management and organization skills for systematic and accurate task execution
• Self-starter with foresight, hands-on approach, and a positive and flexible attitude in fast-paced settings
• Executive presence, professionalism, confidence, and good judgment
• Dedicated to cultivating leadership growth by training how to use tools effectively
