Job Summary

As a Senior Product Engineer you will support the development & execution of our Lowe’s Private Brands products from a Manufacturing POV. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in engineering, design, and project management to drive innovation and deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers/designers to achieve project goals and objectives.

Roles & Responsibility

Core Responsibilities

Product Development – Support the end-to-end product development process, from the provided concept and design iteration to prototyping, testing, and final production.

Technical Excellence – Provide technical expertise in engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes to ensure optimal product performance, functionality, and manufacturability.

CAD Modeling and Simulation – Utilize advanced CAD software and simulation tools to create detailed 3D models, conduct simulations, and analyze design performance under various conditions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration – Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Design, Merchandising, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance to ensure seamless integration of design, engineering, and production efforts.

Mentorship and Training – Mentor and coach junior engineers/designers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to foster their professional growth and development.

Quality Assurance and Compliance – Ensure that product designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality requirements, and lead efforts to address any design-related issues or concerns.

Continuous Improvement – Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product designs, enhance product performance, reduce costs, and streamline production processes; keeping in consideration user/stakeholder feedback.

A well-rounded portfolio – highlight your technical skills and achievements along with displaying your ability to think critically, solve problems, and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Years Of Experience

5-8 years of experience in relevant field.

Educational Qualification & Certifications (optional)

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field.

Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s) is preferred.

Skill Set Required

Primary Skills (must Have)

Proficient knowledge in Windows interface.

Extensive experience in product design and development, with a proven track record of successful product launches.

Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks **REQUIRED**, PTC Creo) and proficiency in simulation tools.

Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials science, techniques and manufacturing processes.

Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Proficiency in creating detailed technical documentation and reports.

Experience with product testing, validation, and regulatory compliance is desirable.

Competence in analyzing test data and performance metrics to drive product improvements.

Experience in project management, including establishing project plans, managing resources, and meeting deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.

Experience in mentoring and coaching junior engineers/designers is highly desirable.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards applicable to product design and development (e.g., ISO, FDA) is a plus.

Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and excellence in product design.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to overcome design and engineering challenges.

Leadership qualities with a collaborative and inclusive approach to team management.

Results-oriented with a focus on driving projects to successful outcomes.

Continuous learner with a growth mindset and committed to staying updated on industry trends.

Secondary Skills (desired)

Mid-Level familiarity with software such as Adobe Photoshop

Presentation software.
