PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Under The Functional Leadership Of The Manager - Estimating And At The Day-to-day Alignment With Proposal Managers, Project Managers, Construction Manager And Procurement/Subcontracting Manager Perform The Following Tasks

• Generate accurate, executable and competitive overall project capital cost estimates with guidance and support from different functions. In conjunction, review other cost inputs like operations and various business models to make overall best business case for AP.
• Take responsibility of different types of cost generation (conceptual AACEI Class V to detailed Class II estimates) based on business need and stringent timeline.
• Self-perform various factored project estimates based on past reference data and limited information on scope by taking care of factors like time, location, currency, scope change, etc. in AP specific way and applying industry knowledge
• Collect and consolidate inputs from different function of business, cross check the accuracy and scope assumption, as per sub-project definition requirements, align as per project scope and business requirements, fill gaps of inputs based on data / mutual agreement with team, etc. Single handedly, take care of mega projects (multiple WBS, multi bullion) as per AP CoA, CBS, Reporting, etc.
• Adaptable and conversant with various estimation tools (e.g, ACCE, Ecosys), database methods, benchmarking techniques, plant type/regional specific factoring, etc.
• Generate Supply / Procurement Inhouse Estimates for Items like Vessels, HE, Compressors, Pumps, Switchgear, Transformers, DCS, Analysers, Valves and Instruments, etc. based on industry norms, database and minimum engineering information
• Preparation of Construction Bid Breakdown (BoQ - Bill of Quantity) based on Engineering inputs.
• Study project document like Plot Plan, SoW, P&ID, Control system architecture, SLD, PFD, specs and raise discipline clarifications to Client/Internal stakeholders AND perform cost estimate.
• Prepare Inhouse cost estimation for the Construction Package (Base on Direct Indirect cost).
• Make sure of completeness of the cost estimation w.r.to all components, e.g., Engineering, Project execution, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Taxes and Duties, IT and Security, Currency Hedge, Commodity, Insurance, Financing, Risk, Reserve, Contingency, etc.
• Take initiative for the development of new procedures and database / benchmarking based on AP project executed data (e.g, SAP, SMAT) and market information to improve the present cost estimating processes.
• Be vigilant of various industry trends (currency, commodity, inflation, regional, labor) and market / business updates
• Consolidate past and ongoing proposal / project data (SAP, Smart tools) for linkage of technical / commercial data, develop unit rates / target costs based on different line of business, regions, etc. Use these data and bring it to as of today cost / benchmark based on market information for ongoing estimate and crosscheck vendor quotes.
• Work with Construction team & Subcontracting Team in Project execution stage providing them the Inputs on Contracts and Validation of Contractor RA Bill as per AP process.
• Work with Project Cost Control team in Project execution stage providing them the Inputs and Preparation of EAC for Construction and Module Package.
• Quantity Survey, Reconciliation (True ups) of Construction quantity Vs. PO quantity at the end of the Project.
• Preparation of Final Reconciliation (True ups) and signoff the same with subcontracting Team.
• Thorough knowledge of Site health, Safety, Quality, and environment procedures.
• Be part of vendor, client, contractor interactions and represent AP. Lead cost estimate reviews with different functions and be part with senior management.
• Work with global teams for resource sharing and estimate delivery.
• Be responsible and accountable for ensuring the soundness of all work personally undertaken.
• Support all departmental activities and initiatives, as per the need.
• Visit sites both home and abroad as and when required.
