Job Description

Sr. Project Engineer

Pune/Noida-India

As a Project Engineer for Automotive & Tire projects you will be part of a dynamic engineering team based in Pune/Noida, working under the guidance of a Team Lead. Your day will involve collaborating with global project managers, executing automation projects across various industries, and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective delivery. You’ll visit customer sites to troubleshoot and commission systems, while also mentoring junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement. You will report to the Manager/TL and have a Full-time schedule working in Pune/Noida, India

Your Responsibilities

• Project Execution & Delivery: Responsible for timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project execution that ensures customer satisfaction.
• Process & Industry Standards: Provide process domain expertise and solutions aligned with industry best practices.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Project Managers and regional stakeholders to ensure smooth project engineering services and execution.
• Project Oversight: Supervise and monitor all phases of project execution, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
• Team Development: Mentor and coach junior project engineers to enhance team capabilities and performance.
• Manage Multiple Projects: Manage and report multiple project deliveries with the complete process adherence, meeting or improving on budget, schedule and quality requirements with all the possible value additions
• Scope & Risk Management: Collaborate with the PM and Team Leader on scope definition, risk management, and technical issue resolution.
• Escalation & Support: Handle escalations effectively and support large project pursuits, ensuring lessons learned are captured and shared.
• Standardization & Cost Reduction: Promote reuse of standard engineering solutions and drive cost reduction through process improvements.
• Customer Engagement: Work closely with leadership to ensure technical excellence, customer satisfaction, and repeat business.
• Site Travel & Troubleshooting: Willingness to travel to project sites to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues. 40% travel would be there.
  
  

The Essentials - You Will Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
• 8 to 12 years of hands-on experience in automation engineering, Specially with RA PLC, HMI & Servo drive & Tire applications, including system design and implementation.
• Comprehensive project lifecycle exposure, from initial design through to final commissioning.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both written and verbal, essential for effective collaboration and project execution.
  
  

The Preferred - You Might Also Have

• Strong level of expertise in RA PLC, HMI, Safety product Networks and a understanding of Motion Control Servo drive Kinetix 5100,5500,5700,6500
  
  

w Intermediate level of expertise in Industry Knowledge (Tire-Banbury, Tire building machine, Bead winding Curing press, calendaring machine), Application Knowledge, Training Skills, and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety).

w Should have gone through complete project life cycle from design phase to commissioning.

• Major Commissioning experience on PLC, & Servo
• Handon experience in legacy migration projects.
• Product selection as per application. Especially AC & Servo drive.
• Proposal support.
• Different Electrical Standard knowledge like NEMA, IEC, UL508 will be an added advantage.
• Technical Knowledge on Electrical Switchgear selection, Part selection for a drive/Servo application for starters and drives like Fuse, Contactor, Choke etc.
