Senior Devops engineer

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-growing engineering team. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing and automating the software delivery lifecycle, enhancing our cloud infrastructure, and enabling efficient, scalable, and reliable systems. You will collaborate with development, operations, and QA teams to ensure smooth, continuous integration, delivery, and deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Management:
• Design, implement, and manage highly available and scalable infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
• Automate the provisioning, scaling, and monitoring of systems using scripting and tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• CI/CD Pipelines:
• Build, maintain, and optimize Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to improve software delivery speed and reliability.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure integration and deployment processes are seamless and automated.
• Monitoring and Performance Tuning:
• Set up and maintain monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to track system performance, detect issues, and implement alerts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance and scalability issues in production environments.
• Security & Compliance:
• Implement security best practices in cloud infrastructure, networks, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure systems are compliant with organizational security standards and regulations.
• Collaboration & Mentorship:
• Work closely with development teams to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and team members.
• Contribute to the improvement of engineering processes and operational workflows.
• Incident Management & Troubleshooting:
• Take ownership of incidents and work cross-functionally to resolve production issues quickly and efficiently.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent future issues.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles, with a strong background in software development and operations.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Shell, or similar languages.
• Knowledge:
• In-depth understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog).
• Familiarity with security best practices and tools for cloud infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of version control systems (Git).
• Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to tackling challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with serverless architectures and technologies (e.g., AWS Lambda).
• Familiarity with database management, including scaling and optimizing SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Certification in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect) is a plus.
