Wood India Consulting Division is currently recruiting for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Digital Operations team.

This position is based in Chennai and because success in the role will require in-person contact with the team, remote work is not an option. 

The Role  

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and automated cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. This position requires strong expertise in Azure cloud services and DevOps practices, particularly in developing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing applications, while also contributing to the development of new solutions by identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective modifications.

The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to conceptualize innovative products and services, using data-driven insights to guide design decisions. Additionally, the engineer will be accountable for delivering defined features or outcomes within assigned segments of development projects, applying the most appropriate methodologies within established frameworks.

Responsibilities

The key objectives for this role are: 

• Develop existing applications and contribute to development of new applications by analysing and identifying areas for modification and improvement
• Develop new routine applications to meet customer requirements
• Work effectively with crossfunctional teams to conceptualize products and services, leveraging data to drive original design ideas and decisions.
• Produce multiple concepts and prototypes to design digital products/services
• Deliver defined features, functionality, or outcomes from a designated part of the development/engineering program, selecting the best available approach within established systems
• Maintain road map to facilitate application software development and ensure the development work is prioritized in line with business requirements
• Support data-driven analysis to identify opportunities for product/service improvement
• Design and deploy Azure-based infrastructure solutions
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
• Manage Azure resources including VMs, VNets, Storage, Azure AD, and Key Vault
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform
•  Implement and manage security controls, policies, and governance frameworks
• Monitor and optimize cloud performance, availability, and cost
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and compliance across environments
• Collaborate with development, QA, and security teams to streamline DevOps workflows

Expected:  

• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Science (Computer Science or Information Technology discipline)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments and on-prem integration
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices and security automation
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with excellent communication and a collaborative approach to working across cross-functional teams
