Position Summary

As a Scrum master, you will be responsible for applying Scrum methodologies across several Scrum teams in an international setup. You will work closely with the operational coordinator and product owner to assist with entering issues and prioritizing the backlog. You will train employees in Scrum and work with other Scrum masters to ensure common practices are followed, coaching teams and other groups on a regular basis.

The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating Agile development practices within cross-functional teams. This role ensures that the Scrum framework is followed, removes impediments, fosters collaboration, and supports the team in delivering high-quality software solutions efficiently.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Facilitate getting the work done without dictating and assigning.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Coach team members on Agile principles and practices to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Remove obstacles that hinder the team’s progress and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Support the Product Owner in managing the product backlog and ensuring clarity of user stories.
  • Track and report key Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown charts) to stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Ensure team adherence to Agile values and principles.
  • Coordinate with other Scrum masters and teams to manage dependencies and align delivery goals.
  • Schedule and hold demos when needed
  • Resolve team conflicts
  • Work with stakeholders to remove blocking issues
  • Motivate the teams to be self-organizing
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised and discussed towards a solution openly

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • Having Scrum Master certification.
  • Total 6+ years of experience with a minimum of 3 years of experience running more than one team as a scrum master, as your primary function.
  • Exposure to scaled Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS).

Essential Skills & Abilities:

  • Firm grasp of Agile development methodologies with the ability to tailor them to the needs of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience with issue tracking systems, preferably Jira.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Ability to act independently with limited supervision.
  • Customer-focused attitude.
  • Relevant experience of effectively supporting project teams
  • Ability to write accurate and concise communications
  • Ability to work independently in most circumstances and use initiative to propose and implement changes to work practices
