The Position

Your mission

As this position is a global role, international business travel will be required depending upon the business location of the successful candidate and ongoing business project activities.

Your mission
As a Scrum Master, you will be a key driver in the effectiveness and continuous improvement of up to two scrum teams. You will enable them to reach their full potential, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and sustainability. Your responsibilities include:
- Team Facilitation: Guide teams toward greater self-organization and a sustainable pace of work. You will organize and facilitate productive agile ceremonies and workshops—such as sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives—to enable quick, data-driven decision-making. You will also be a proactive force in maintaining a healthy team atmosphere and promoting well-being
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Foster a learning and open feedback culture. You will mentor development team members on Scrum principles and best practices, and actively participate in our Agile Coaches Community of Practice. You are expected to work, align and collaborate with other Scrum Masters and stakeholders from multiple locations, promoting a culture that embraces change and values experimentation and innovation
- Transparency & Risk Management: Create transparency on scope, resources, performance, and risks. You'll work with the team and stakeholders to ensure a continuous and active backlog, clear user stories, and transparent communication of team performance against established and new metrics. You will also guide the team in identifying, tracking, and managing risks and removing impediments
- Quality and Delivery: You will help your teams to improve their processes and ensure a high-quality product. You will be a hands-on contributor to the team's quality assurance efforts collaborating with developers and product owners to define test strategies and acceptance criteria. You will contribute to manual and automation testing to validate functionality and improve efficiency, coverage and regression safety. This role also involves improving test processes and integration into CI/CD pipelines, as well as maintaining test documentation and ensuring traceability of requirements, raising quality-related risks early
- Compliance: Ensure the team's compliance with Roche SOPs and encourage collaboration across all teams and development partners.
- Attained at least 2 years full-time experience as a Scrum Master
- Hands-on experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and XP
- Technical Background: experience in working in Software Development, preferably in Cloud product development
- QA Expertise: Direct experience with QA tasks including manual and/or automation testing
- Experience on a Team of Teams level
- Great written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong Interpersonal, problem solving and influencing abilities
- The ability to recognize and aid in the resolution of team conflicts and impediments
- Tact, diplomacy, cooperation skills, and an attentive, empathetic nature
- Flexibility and responsiveness to changing priorities and team needs
- Experience and certification with SAFe
- Experience managing teams across different timezones (India, Europe, USA)
- Knowledge of DevOps principles and best practices
- Experience in pharmaceutical/ healthcare/ medical device industry and/or highly regulated environments
- A track record of continued and recent education in Scrum, including training, and participation in conferences, user groups, podcasts, etc
- Experience in guiding and mentoring other Agile Coaches/Scrum Masters
