ROP-Senior Software Engineer

To further increase adoption by government, public administrations, and other highly regulated customers, we have embarked on an initiative to deliver Sovereign Cloud solutions in select regions, meeting unique technical, legal, and operational requirements.

The Azure Compute Sovereign platform team is the Microsoft engineering team that builds the platform and tooling required to build, deploy, and manage various Sovereign Clouds for our global customers.

We are looking for a seasoned hands on engineers to architect, design and implement distributed services, automation tools and frameworks for accelerating new cloud build out and operations. As part of the role, you will be responsible for building services and tools that simplifies and reduces the Cloud build-out time. You will be building solutions that overcomes the complexities and challenges in Sovereign cloud management. This will be a place where you will innovate to overcome current technology, you will bring in solutions which solve resiliency, scale, security, compliance for our global customers across various Azure Geographies.

Responsibilities

• Drive long-term architecture and detailed design for highly scalable distributed systems with simplicity and maintainability as core tenets
• Provide strong technical leadership, raise the technical bar, maintain data and results-driven culture, nurture a team culture of high collaboration and trust
• Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
• Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
• Evangelizing best engineering practices and processes within and across teams to help resolve technical conflicts and achieve consensus.
• Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
  
  

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python Or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience designing, developing, deploying, and monitoring cloud services/RESTful service/Distributed system.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS or similar cloud computing platforms.
