Robotics AI Engineer
Acceleration Robotics

We are hiring a Robotics AI Engineer to work at the cutting edge of AI-driven autonomy, blending classic robotics with modern Large Language Models (LLMs) and Vision Foundation Models (VFMs). This role involves building full-stack robotic intelligence—from sensor fusion and perception, to motion planning, to LLM-based reasoning and interaction—all deployed on real-world unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and edge devices like Jetson Orin.
You will architect and deploy systems that combine deep learning, transformers, and robotic middleware (ROS 2) to power field-ready robots capable of perception, planning, decision-making, and human interaction in unstructured environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop AI-driven autonomy algorithms for navigation, perception, and decision-making in UGVs
- Create sensor-fusion pipelines using LiDAR, cameras, radar, and IMUs for SLAM, state estimation, and mapping
- Integrate and fine-tune vision models (e.g., CLIP, SAM, DINO) for semantic understanding and terrain classification
- Ground LLM outputs to real-world robotic actions using ROS 2 and RAG pipelines
- Build real-time path planning and control modules (e.g., MPC, A*, RRT*) within simulation and on-board systems
- Optimize and deploy AI models (LLMs and CNNs) on embedded platforms (Jetson AGX, Orin, Coral) using TensorRT/OpenVINO
- Conduct remote and on-field testing, data collection, and continuous model improvement
- Collaborate across embedded, mechanical, and AI teams for full-system integration
- Document algorithms, contribute to technical reports, and mentor junior engineers
Required Skills:
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++
- Experience with ROS 2 (nodes, topics, launch files, middleware) in real or simulated robots
- Deep understanding of SLAM, localization, mapping, sensor fusion (EKF, particle filters)
- Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, OpenAI/HuggingFace APIs, and VFM integration
- Hands-on experience deploying models in real-world systems, including edge inference
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, research-oriented environments
- Background in robotics, computer science, electronics, or AI/ML
Preferred Skills:
- Experience deploying AI pipelines on Jetson, FPGA, or GPU-powered platforms
- Prior use of VFMs (e.g., CLIP, SAM) and LLMs for robotic reasoning or HRI
- Knowledge of reinforcement or imitation learning, task planning systems
- Exposure to embedded Linux, RTOS, or cross-compilation toolchains
- Familiarity with defense-grade systems, MIL-STD compliance, and OTA update pipelines
- Contributions to open-source robotics or AI frameworks
What This Role Offers You:
- Work at the forefront of robotics and foundation models
- Build the next generation of intelligent, autonomous field robots
- Collaborate with global clients, researchers, and tech leaders
- Opportunity to publish, present, and push innovation in AI-driven robotics
- Competitive salary and stock options aligned with leading tech startups
