Risk Analyst, Model Risk Management

Job Description

Job Purpose

The Risk Analyst will join the Model Risk Management (MRM) team, a part of the global Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function, that delivers and supports company-wide quantitative risk model validation as well as model risk governance. Model validation applies processes and activities using analytic methods including statistical, mathematical, and computational methods, to verify that models are performing as expected in line with their design objectives and business uses. Model validation at ICE thus helps quantify the risk associated with the use of financial risk models.

The MRM team performs independent validation (IV) of models used across different business units at ICE. In addition, MRM provides targeted analytics services for financial risk models. The primary role of this position will be to support model validation and communication of testing results within the MRM group and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Work with the MRM group to validate and support models, methodologies, and reporting of risks throughout the organization
• Produce and analyze validation reports, along with improvements and automation to these reports as required
• Provide detailed analysis and documentation of methods, techniques, and findings
• Coordinate with domain experts to develop and refine risk best practices, policies, and procedures
  
  

Knowledge And Experience

• Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics or similar
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail
• Ability to program in one of Python or R
• Strong presentation, communication, and business writing skills
  
  

Preferred

• Experience with financial/economic data analysis
• Basic understanding of financial markets
• Basic knowledge of risk management concepts and their applications
