Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC) is a research and development facility with around 500 R&D engineer's, specialists, and experts, who focus on creating and sustaining digital solutions, new products and technology. This includes product integration, testing, cybersecurity, and certification. The India Development Centre is situated in Chennai and Bangalore. IDC collaborates with the R&D and Research locations of Hitachi Energy, which are spread across more than 15 locations throughout 12 countries. In the past 20 years, IDC has secured more than 200 international papers and 150+ patents.

Your Responsibilities

  • In this role as manager for HVDC System Design you will be a part of a committed team that operates in the forefront of technology.
  • You will lead a highly knowledgeable team of engineers and specialist, ensure development and retention.
  • Manage operational tasks for the team, ensure high quality output from the team.
  • Be engaged in creating and driving inspiring team’s vision connected with organization’s vision & strategy.
  • You will take ownership of developing the team’s competence and work processes.
  • Actively encourage collaboration with the receiving organizations as well as with global team.

Your Background

  • You hold at least Engineering Degree preferably in relevant technology field e.g. Power Systems, Power Electronics and having knowledge in HVDC & FACTS technology.
  • As a person you have a passion for people and technology, you are strong in decision making and have the right inner drive to take on full responsibility for your scope and deliver on time in a dynamic environment.
  • Prior experience in R&D, people management are preferable.
  • Sound understanding of R&D activities and so in power system business/project.
  • You are a genuine team player that seeks and enjoys collaboration with peers and partners
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
