Notion is an in person company, and currently requires its employees to come to the office for two Anchor Days (Mondays & Thursdays) and requests that employees spend the majority of their week in the office (including a third day).

What You’ll Achieve

• Drive quality initiatives that have meaningful impact on product reliability and user experience across multiple projects or product areas.
• Identify and advocate for tactical investments in testing infrastructure, automation frameworks, and quality processes that enable team efficiency and reduce redundant efforts.
• Be accountable for quality outcomes on medium to large-sized projects, identifying risks early and sequencing testing activities to de-risk execution.
• Lead both manual and automated testing efforts across web and mobile platforms, making strategic decisions about when to automate versus when manual testing provides more value.
• Work independently with cross-functional partners (Product, Design, Engineering, Data Science) to unblock projects and ensure quality requirements are met.
• Mentor junior QA engineers on testing best practices, mobile and web automation techniques, and quality mindset.
• Proactively identify process improvements and drive their adoption across the team.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in quality engineering, providing guidance on testing strategies and risk assessment for both web and mobile applications.
  
  

Skills You'll Need To Bring

• 5+ years of experience in both manual and automated testing across web, mobile, and API platforms.
• Strong mobile automation expertise with Appium (mandatory) and experience testing on iOS, Android platforms.
• Extensive experience in manual mobile application testing across different devices and OS versions.
• Strong automation expertise with tools like Selenium, WebdriverIO, Appium, or Playwright.
• Programming experience in at least one language (TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, or Python).
• Deep understanding of API testing and ability to design comprehensive API test strategies (Postman, REST Assured, or similar).
• Experience with test automation framework design, implementation, and maintenance for both web and mobile platforms.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies: functional, regression, integration, performance, and accessibility testing.
• Expertise in database testing and SQL queries for data validation.
• Proficiency in mobile debugging tools and practical knowledge of debugging on iOS and Android platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to evaluate tradeoffs in testing approaches and make decisions that balance speed with quality.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail, or similar).
• Strong debugging skills using browser dev tools and mobile debugging tools.

• Experience leading quality initiatives or serving as QA lead on projects.
• Knowledge of AI prompt engineering for testing and quality validation.
• Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies for mobile applications.
• Familiarity with BDD/TDD practices and tools like Cucumber or similar.
• Experience with AWS services, CircleCI, or other cloud-based testing infrastructure.
• Understanding of security testing principles and practices for mobile applications.
• Experience with visual regression testing tools.
• Contributions to testing frameworks or open-source testing tools.
• Knowledge of mobile-specific testing tools and frameworks (XCUITest, Espresso).
• Experience with mobile performance tests.
