Python Automation Engineer

About The Role

As a Python Automation Developer at NCG, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our software development lifecycle through innovative automation solutions. Your expertise in Python, automation frameworks, and UI testing tools will ensure the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our distributed backend applications. This role goes beyond writing scriptsits about transforming testing and automation practices to enable faster, high-quality delivery. Youll collaborate closely with product managers, DevOps, and cross-functional teams, while also mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based BDD frameworks for functional, regression, and end-to-end testing of distributed backend applications.
• Implement UI automation using tools like Selenium and Playwright to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Write and execute unit, integration, and system tests, debug issues, and create test data aligned with defined test scenarios.
• Collaborate with product managers, DevOps, and developers to deliver high-quality, end-to-end solutions.
• Continuously evaluate and improve automation frameworks by adopting modern Python libraries and tools.
• Take ownership of automation projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Mentor and guide junior automation engineers, fostering a culture of learning and accountability.
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6-9 years of experience in automation testing, with a strong focus on Python.
• Hands-on expertise with Python automation frameworks (e.g., BDD frameworks like Behave, pytest-bdd, or Cucumber).
• Strong experience in UI automation tools such as Selenium and Playwright.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and testing methodologies (functional, regression, integration).
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and test data preparation skills.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
• Leadership abilities with experience mentoring and guiding team members.
