A Purchase Manager in the sheet metal industry oversees procurement of raw materials, vendor management, cost optimization, and ensures timely supply to support production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies for sheet metal and related components
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms
- Maintain vendor relationships and evaluate supplier performance
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery timelines
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production teams
- Optimize procurement costs while maintaining efficiency
- Experience: 5–7 years in procurement/purchasing, preferably in sheet metal or manufacturing
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Knowledge of sheet metal grades, specifications, and supply chain
- ERP/Procurement software proficiency
- Analytical and cost-control mindset
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Commerce/Business (depending on company preference)
