What You'll Do
Join us in building a secure platform supporting Avalara’s expanding business. In this role you will have the opportunity to manage a variety of programs and projects that contribute to delivering the trust and reliability our customers expect.
You’ll be responsible for end to end management of assigned programs or projects. The successful candidate will be required to manage the project management triad - cost, time, quality for each assignment. A thorough understanding of program and project management concepts with experience managing complex enterprise initiatives will be valuable experience for the right candidate.

You’ll be responsible for end to end management of assigned programs or projects. Job Duties
- Manage complex technical projects by tracking deadlines, deliverables, resources, and timelines.
- Adapt plans based on evolving needs, conditions or issues that may arise and ensure high-quality delivery aligned with the stated project goals.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, each with varying priority, timelines and resource requirements.
- Inform project teams and senior leaders where resources are currently being placed and adjust workflows and identify resourcing gaps accordingly.
- Partner with Engineering, IT, and other teams to ensure documentation, supporting materials and project plans are updated and readily available for internal teams, senior leaders, and external partners/stakeholders.
- Own and maintain a project portfolio, communicating project status, scope, schedules, risks, dependencies and blockers, etc.
- At least 4 years as a program manager at an organization with at least 1000 employees.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Strong ability to quickly understand and conceptualize processes and procedures.
- Results-oriented with strong time management skills, highly organized, motivated, and driven to succeed.
- Highly proficient with business applications such as JIRA, GSuite, Microsoft Excel/Word/PPT, other applicable project tracking and reporting applications.
- Familiarity with security fundamentals (confidentiality, integrity, availability) and core IT infrastructure.
- 8 years of related experience as a program manager.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
