The Work You'll Do
As a Product Manager at Sovos, you'll be at the heart of our product innovation, ensuring our solutions not only meet market demands but exceed customer expectations. This role goes beyond traditional product management—you'll be shaping the future of tax compliance technology for some of the world's most influential companies, including half the Fortune 500.
You'll lead strategic execution for a key segment of our product portfolio, working at the intersection of market insights, customer needs, and cutting-edge technology. You'll lead strategic execution for a key segment of our product portfolio, working at the intersection of market insights, customer needs, and cutting-edge technology. More Specifically, You Will
- Lead and execute strategic direction for a broad segment of the Sovos product portfolio, ensuring alignment with market needs and company objectives
- Drive product roadmap definition and execution through Agile Development processes, including release planning, epic definition, and oversight of Product Owners and backlog prioritization
- Identify and validate market opportunities, including whitespace and greenfield prospects, by engaging directly with distribution channels, market influencers, and customers
- Develop and maintain comprehensive buyer personas and document typical buying processes to inform go-to-market strategies
- Facilitate critical buy/build/partner decisions that optimize resource allocation and accelerate time-to-market
- Collaborate with marketing teams to position products effectively for relevant markets and buyer types, contributing to pricing strategies and business planning
- Monitor product profitability and conduct win/loss analysis to continuously refine product strategy and competitive positioning
- Partner cross-functionally across the organization to build shared vision and drive consensus on challenging decisions that impact multiple teams
- Leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance product capabilities and deliver innovative solutions that keep Sovos at the forefront of compliance technology
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, MIS, Computer Science, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in product management, with demonstrated success in agile development environments
- Background and experience in ERP Systems or Sales, Use and Value-Added Tax (preferred but not required)
- Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to establish priorities and achieve results in fast-paced, complex environments
- Strong decision-making capabilities, even when working with imperfect or incomplete data
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to comprehend and articulate complex technical and business concepts to diverse audiences
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams, collaborating across time zones and cultures
- Experience interfacing with senior leaders and C-level personnel, both internally and with clients
- High degree of self-awareness with commitment to continuous personal development and learning
- Initiative-driven mindset with determination to achieve results, success, and growth
- Ability to utilize technology effectively (phone systems, computer hardware, and software applications) to fulfill work requirements
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Sovos locations and events
- Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hire
