PAYMENTS MANAGER (INDIA)
As the Starlink’s payments owner in India, you will be responsible for end-to-end management of payment processing and payment risk operations in India. This is a broad and varied role that includes being responsible for all aspects of payments including product, operations and data. Your role will be critical in support of Starlink’s growth in the region. You will work in close coordination with the Global Starlink Payments team. The role may, over time, expand to include regional/global focus.

PAYMENTS MANAGER (INDIA)
As the Starlink’s payments owner in India, you will be responsible for end-to-end management of payment processing and payment risk operations in India. This is a broad and varied role that includes being responsible for all aspects of payments including product, operations and data. Your role will be critical in support of Starlink’s growth in the region. You will work in close coordination with the Global Starlink Payments team. The role may, over time, expand to include regional/global focus.
Responsibilities
- Monitor payment success rates, fraud rates, settlement, and reconciliation data on a daily/weekly basis.
- Perform root cause analysis on active payment issues and work with cross-functional teams including engineering, customer support and external payment providers to resolve.
- Respond to incoming disputes, chargebacks, requests for information, and other external payment inquiries.
- Lead complex projects to implement opportunities for payments growth, cost optimization, new method launch and process improvements.
- Drive payment readiness for growth initiatives and product/plan/pricing changes.
- Assemble weekly and ad hoc written reports for management including key metrics, trend explanations, and other salient payment developments.
- Maintain awareness of and adhere to all relevant payment processing compliance requirements.
- Identify potential fraud loss situations and implement solutions including real-time risk rules, reactive workflows and payment configuration changes to minimize fraud leakage.
- Oversee fraud screening scripts and other internal fraud controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, computer science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or other analytical field.
- 7+ years of experience in fintech, payments and/or risk.
- Experience accepting domestic India payment methods including UPI, cards (including RUPay), and other local payment methods.
- Professional experience using SQL to build reports.
- Experience working in payments function at a fast-paced e-commerce/retail or technology company especially at subscription merchants.
- Experience working at a multinational company with operations overseas.
- Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a startup environment with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Open to working with stakeholders in different locations and time zones.
- We will be prioritizing local applicants who have the current right to work in India
- This is a 100% onsite position based in our Bangalore, India office. Remote or hybrid work will not be considered
