Job Summary
Required Skills Change & Release management Mandatory requirement: ITIL v4 (Intermediate) certification Key responsibilities: • Change Management: o Develop and implement change management processes and procedures to control the introduction of changes to IT systems and services. o Review proposed changes to assess potential impacts on infrastructure, applications, services, and business processes. o Evaluate change requests for feasibility, risks, and compliance with organizational policies, standards, and regulations. o Coordinate with stakeholders, including IT teams, business units, and external vendors, to obtain approvals and support for change implementations. o Maintain a centralized change management system or database to track and document all change requests, approvals, and implementation details. o Conduct post implementation reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of changes and identify opportunities for improvement. • Release Management: o Plan and coordinate the release of new software, applications, patches, updates, and configuration changes into production environments. o Develop release schedules, deployment plans, and rollback procedures in collaboration with development, testing, and operations teams. o Ensure that releases are thoroughly tested, validated, and approved before deployment to minimize the risk of disruptions or adverse impacts. o Communicate release schedules, status updates, and deployment instructions to relevant stakeholders, including end users and support teams. o Monitor release deployments to ensure that they are executed according to plan and troubleshoot any issues or deviations that arise during the process. o Document release activities, configurations, and dependencies to facilitate rollback procedures and future reference. • Change Advisory Board (CAB): o Chair or participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to review and evaluate proposed changes, assess risks, and make decisions regarding their approval and prioritization. o Facilitate discussions and collaboration among CAB members representing different functional areas and stakeholders to reach consensus on change decisions. o Ensure that CAB meetings are conducted regularly, efficiently, and transparently, with clear documentation of discussions, decisions, and action items. • Continuous Improvement: o Continuously review and improve change and release management processes, tools, and practices to enhance efficiency, reliability, and compliance. o Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, or optimization to streamline change and release workflows and reduce manual effort. o Stay updated on industry best practices, methodologies, and emerging technologies related to change and release management. • Communication and Stakeholder Management: o Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including IT teams, management, business units, and external vendors, regarding change and release activities, schedules, and impacts. o Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns or conflicts related to proposed changes, release plans, or implementation issues. o Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability among all stakeholders involved in change and release management processes.
