Job Responsibilities :

Pilot reports to Deputy Head, Marine Operations and is responsible for:

• Safe berthing and un-berthing of SPM and jetty vessels including LOLO jetty at the terminal
• Expediting cargo operations at SPM for faster turnaround of vessels
• For supervising all operations required for safe loading and discharging of vessels at SPM including #Pre cargo transfer conference # completing the Cargo and Ballast Operation Plan, safe connection / disconnection of hoses, Cargo measurement and completion of cargo and operational documentation
• Informing and / or issuing vessel deficiency note about deficiencies observed while piloting SPM and jetty vessels.
• Supervising cargo operations and ensuring safety of operations at SPM.
• Acting as on-scene commander in the event of an oil-spill or any other emergency at the SPMs, while on board any tanker moored at SPM.
• Carrying out tanker inspections as per terminal checklist
• Issuing letters of protest on safety issues, any delays due to equipment failure and any other related incidents
• Carrying out periodic inspection of support crafts
  
  
  

Education Requirement :

Candidate should be in possession of valid Master FG certificate issued by Director General Of Shipping, India with minimum one year experience as master on tanker (Oil or Chemical or Gas). Contract pilot not required to have one year experience of working on any type of tankers

Experience Requirement : Minimum two years# experience as SPM pilot and minimum one year experience of piloting vessels at jetty. For contract Jetty pilot - He should be an open tonnage pilot in a port for at least 1 year. Skills & Competencies :

• To be well conversant with statutory requirement of tanker operations
• To have sound knowledge on MARPOL, SOLAS, DGS, and MS act
• SPM and jetty pilotage skills (Contract pilot need not have past experience of SPM pilotage or its operation)
• Conversant with port operations including knowledge about tug operations
