Manufacturing Engineer III

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Manager of Production Planning and Control responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of production planning and control within the manufacturing facility, including some special A-Class vendors. This role involves developing production schedules, managing inventory levels, and ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to meet production goals. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Responsibilities:

• Production Scheduling:
• Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts and customer orders.
• Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand, equipment availability, or production capacity.
• Resource Management:
• Monitor and allocate resources such as materials, labor, and machinery to optimize production efficiency.
• Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials required for production.
• Inventory Control:
• Manage inventory levels to minimize excess stock while ensuring availability for production needs.
• Conduct regular inventory assessments/audits and implement stock replenishment strategies.
• Reporting and Analysis:
• Generate and analyze reports on production performance metrics, including efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Problem-Solving:
• Troubleshoot production issues and develop effective solutions to minimize disruptions.
• Respond promptly to any production-related emergencies or challenges.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to align production plans with business objectives.
• Communicate production status, challenges, and timelines to stakeholders.
• Production Planning Coordination with Outsourced Suppliers:
• Coordinate with outsourced suppliers for parts and supplies.
• Ensure production schedules are in line with production and customer schedules.
• Manage the performance of special suppliers with periodic evaluations.
  

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in Production Planning and Control, with a proven track record.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and production planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier contracts.
• Knowledge of various quality system methodologies such as 8D, Lean, 5 Whys, and Pareto Analysis.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues that arise during the production process and develop effective solutions.
