SECTION II: PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To support the SC planning team in driving the supply chain planning strategies, managing production plans, analyzing demand trends, and optimizing inventory levels, to ensure that all planning activities are executed effectively and efficiently and are aligned with the organization's overall business objectives and customer requirements

SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE

Responsibilities

Policies, Processes & Procedures

  • Conduct day to day activities & follow all relevant policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that SC planning work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
  • Keep self-abreast with leading practices & trends and contribute to the identification of continuous improvement in systems, processes and procedures related to SC planning to help optimize cost

Demand Planning

  • Perform demand forecasts for materials using historical data, industry consumption, sector growth, and competitor data
  • Track production share vs. market share to decide export quantity and forecast product consumption and price movements
  • Coordination with Business stakeholders for timely completion of demand planning activities

Production Planning & Optimization

  • Identify the production quantities to be produced based on estimate of market demand for resource optimization
  • Support production planners in planning production schedule based on opening stock taking into account substitute grades, sales cycle, safety stock
  • Circulate the production schedule to relevant stakeholders and revise the production plan periodically as per requirement
  • Execute Advanced Planning & Optimization (SAP-APO) sub modules for all planning activities
  • Drive business specific integration with overall Petrochemical planning process and facilitate timely Petrochemical LP (Linear Programming) integration run
  • Monitor and evaluate risks based on planning and implement risk mitigation initiatives where necessary

Supply Planning

  • Prepare the supply plan considering the customer(s) to be serviced, allocation quantities and their fulfilment i.e. from multiple plants/depots
  • Communicate the supply plan constraints, if any, with concerned internal/external stakeholders

Inventory Management

  • Coordinate with plant/depot to track the inventory levels while ensuring optimization to meet customer demand and minimizing inventory carrying costs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on production plans, inventory levels for optimization
  • Prepare report on inventory data to understand any stock level adjustments required and push by-products from all the sites to minimize ageing stock / slow moving grades; block or release mapped lots for key customers
  • Provide inputs during preparation of business-wise material balance and track availability of feedstock; Maintain Industry material balance record
  • Support in managing available storage space for smooth functioning of plants

  • % of no touch order released
  • Inventory anomalies at Plant and depots
  • Timely completion of planning activities

Education Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech (Polymer/Chemical/Textile/Mechanical); MBA desirable

Experience

  • 4-7 years of experience in relevant field
