- Linux administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux, SUSE): install, configure, patch, harden, and tune systems.
- Shell scripting (Bash, sh, ksh): automate tasks and build health check/monitoring scripts.
- Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs, and troubleshooting using tools like netstat, traceroute, tcpdump.
- Storage management: LVM, RAID, NFS, SAN, iSCSI, and disk management.
- User and permission management: users, groups, sudoers, PAM, and file permissions.
- System monitoring and troubleshooting: using top, htop, iostat, vmstat, journalctl, and log analysis.
- Security best practices: SELinux, firewalld/iptables, SSH hardening, vulnerability remediation.
- Virtualization and containers: familiarity with KVM, VMware, Docker basics.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting skills.
- Clear documentation skills for processes and configurations.
- Good time management to handle patching, KTLO, and project work.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple technical teams
