About the role:


As Dibber’s Legal Associate, you will support and manage contracts with our partners, vendors, suppliers, and others, as well as other legal matters, together with the rest of the organization and a growing legal team. You will work both on domestic and international issues. You will have to liaison with local lawyer and assist in the due diligence of properties and parties in a timely and effective manner. With an analytical, hands-on and autonomous approach, you shall be a reliable partner in the day-to-day legal administration, flow-down and preparation of subcontracts/purchase orders and other legal matters. You must ensure that contract, due diligence, change, and risk management activities are timely and accurately executed, protecting Dibber’s interests throughout the project(s) lifecycle. You will collaborate with many other functions and work with the other leads at Dibber. This is a job at the centre of our business and heart!


Job responsibilities:


  • Using relevant knowledge of principles, regulations and practices for Contracts, companies law and property law work on the standard templates and other legal matters
  • Verifying that all parties to the contract have fulfilled their contractual obligations and no responsibilities are outstanding.
  • Identifying the contract baseline (including terms and conditions, specifications, drawings, estimate, proposal, schedule and other documents incorporated in the contract) and highlighting areas of opportunities and potential risk
  • Contract Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and modify contracts, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with company standards and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Contract Compliance: Monitor contract compliance and performance, conducting audits when necessary to ensure adherence to terms and conditions.
  • Real estate Laws: Review the due diligences report and title documents of properties to ensure clear and marketable title.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of contracts, including documentation, correspondence, and contract-related information.
  • Legal Support: Collaborate with the legal team, providing support on legal matters related to contracts, including dispute resolution and contract interpretation.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and company policies while supporting business
  • Assessing and understanding the impact of new regulations
  • Identifying contractual, commercial and operational risks and exposures in the contracts
  • Providing inputs/mark-up on contracts to negate contractual, commercial and operational risks and exposures
  • Documenting and communicating to all relevant parties any deficiencies found as part of the closeout process
  • Establishing and enforcing standard methodologies in the portfolio of contracts to identify, notify, enforce or defend changes/claims (passive/active) coming from/towards third parties.



Required Qualifications/ Skills:


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and influence stakeholders
  • Proficient in English communication (oral and written)
  • Working knowledge/hands-on experience on contracts, companies law and property law executed under Indian law
  • BA (LLB) or master’s in law from a Bar Council of India-recognized institute
  • Experience in credible organizations with proven success and stability in a mandated requirement
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience with the right mix of law firm and in-house counsel experience would be preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of contract law, property law, company law and contract drafting.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on the accuracy and completeness of contract documents.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, identify potential issues, and propose practical solutions.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office suite, contract management software, and other relevant tools and other relevant tools.

Monday to Friday, with Hybrid working

This opportunity does not require outstation travel.
