Role & Responsibilities

  • Knowledge & experience on studies like HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, LOPA for process systems & facilitate the same.
  • Participate in Management of Change, Risk Assessment, PSSR.
  • Perform Dispersion Analysis using PHAST.
  • Participate in Incident Investigation;
  • Lead Plant Process Safety Audits;
  • Experience in understanding P&IDs with respect to various equipment, instruments and processes. Ability to review P&IDs from a safety perspective and provide comments.
  • Experience in understanding logic and interlocks with respect to various systems
  • The person is responsible to facilitate, identify, evaluate, mitigation plan, prioritize for closure, verification, periodic review, follow-up, effectiveness tracking of process safety hazards.
  • Follow-up for closure of safety study recommendations;
  • Train plant personnel on Process Safety procedures;
  • Technical evaluation of vendor specification for process safety items, equipment
  • Interface with Leads of other departments to reflect the as-on-date input from other departments, as applicable in the case of projects where safety inputs are relevant
  • Good communication skill is a must and should be good in technical writing in English.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience of 10 years in operations / process safety in oil & gas/ petrochemical / similar industry.
  • Proven experience in process safety management within oil & gas / Petrochemical / similar industries.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess technical information and identify safety risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in leading process hazard analysis, LOPA, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Certification in process safety management is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety excellence.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and technologies for data analysis and risk assessment.
