Lead - Denim Sourcing (10-12 Years)

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead our denim sourcing function. The role will focus on building strong vendor partnerships, driving cost efficiencies, ensuring OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) delivery, and expanding fabric innovation to support both new product development (NPD) and replenishment requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Vendor Management & Relationship Building

  • Own and manage long-term relationships with domestic and international denim fabric vendors.
  • Expand and diversify the vendor base to strengthen supply chain resilience.
  • Maintain vendor scorecards and drive continuous performance improvement.

2. Delivery & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) delivery of all denim fabric requirements.
  • Develop alternate sourcing options to mitigate supply risks.
  • Streamline replenishment processes for speed and consistency.

3. Costing & Commercials

  • Drive cost improvement initiatives while maintaining product quality and brand standards.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and supply agreements with mills/vendors.
  • Support margin improvement through value engineering and efficiency.

4. Product Development & Innovation (NPD)

  • Collaborate with design and merchandising teams for new product development and replenishment fabrics.
  • Explore, source, and introduce new fabrics, innovative finishes, and designs aligned with fashion trends and customer needs.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives (organic cotton, recycled fibers, water-saving denim technologies, BCI, etc.).

5. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all fabrics meet quality, performance, and compliance standards.
  • Proactively address and reduce returns/claims through robust quality control and supplier accountability.
  • Implement corrective actions for any fabric-related issues.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of denim fabrics (construction, blends, weights, finishes, washes).
  • Proven ability to manage OTIF delivery and vendor performance.
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor relationship, and cost management skills.
  • Expertise in NPD, replenishment planning, and fabric innovation.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical mindset.
  • Awareness of sustainability and global compliance standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Textile Engineering, Apparel Management, or related fields.
  • 10–12 years of experience in fabric sourcing, with at least 4+ years in denim sourcing.
  • Established relationships with leading denim mills in India and overseas.
  • Demonstrated track record of cost savings, vendor base expansion, and fabric innovation.
  • Having experience in wovens is a plus
