IP Manager

Job Title : Sr. Manager - IP

Reporting to : Head of IP Management, Asia Pacific

Entity & Work Location : Evonik India, Thane

Purpose of the Position :

• Provide patent drafts and filings, IP consulting, IP opinions, IP related contracts
• Handling opposition, invalidation and patent infringement cases
• Increase awareness on IP in India
• Support RD&I hub in all IP matters
  
  

Key Responsibilities :

Patent related work:

• Patent drafting and prosecution in corporation with the inventors, regional decision makers and portfolio responsible colleagues in other regions
• Providing opinions, including validity and FTO analysis
• Coordinating and handling of patent invalidation and infringement cases
• Close cooperation with IP department in Asia Pacific Region, Germany, as well as US and external patent agencies.
  
  

Education Required:

• Master, Ph.D. preferred / Natural sciences or engineering and Indian patent agent
• Major preferred: Chemistry or chemical related subjects; preferably a polymer chemist, an organic chemist, a bio chemist or an expert on material science and Indian patent agent
  
  

Experience required :

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Preferred industry experience: Chemical industry or law firm
  
  

Other qualifications:

• Ability to work independently with high quality and with short deadlines, while maintaining the highest degree of attention to details and follow-through
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent ability to work in a team
• Willingness to travel
