We are seeking an Intermediate Application Developer (IAD) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of applications using Linux shell scripting, Java, R (for analytics), and/or Python programming. The role involves working with data sourced from mainframe systems, delivered via FTP and managed on a Linux platform. Experience or familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a strong plus.

The role involves working with data sourced from mainframe systems, delivered via FTP and managed on a Linux platform. Experience or familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications and scripts in Linux, Java, R, and Python.
- Consume and manage mainframe files delivered via FTP to Linux systems.
- Enhance and maintain existing applications, ensuring code quality, performance, and scalability.
- Perform unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Validate data integrity between test and production environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver robust solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies.
- Document technical specifications, processes, and system configurations.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in application development.
- Proficient in Linux shell scripting and one or more of the following: Java, R, Python.
- Solid understanding of data validation and transformation processes.
- Experience with file transfer protocols (FTP/SFTP) and handling large data files.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience with or knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
- Understanding of mainframe data formats and job scheduling tools.
- Exposure to automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
