Position Title: Business Head – Chennai
Function: Sales & Business Development
Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu
Purpose of the Role:
Leaders’ Edge is looking for an accomplished Business Head to lead and scale the Automation business line across Tamil Nadu. The role is accountable for sales growth, customer engagement, and strategic partnerships—particularly with a global automation OEM. The incumbent will play a critical role in driving revenue, developing new business opportunities, and owning the end-to-end sales lifecycle while ensuring compliance with sales processes and commercial policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Own and deliver the regional revenue targets aligned with national strategy.
- Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities with a hunter mindset.
- Understand customer needs and present tailored value propositions and solutions.
2. Customer & Channel Management
- Deeply engage with clients to uncover needs and provide relevant Siemens automation solutions.
- Ensure CRM systems are updated with real-time, high-quality customer interactions.
- Establish effective B2B prospecting strategies for new account growth.
3. Strategic Supplier & OEM Engagement
- Build strong partnerships with global automation OEMs and maintain robust local collaboration.
- Develop a strategic roadmap with OEMs (especially Siemens) to drive value across customer accounts.
- Contribute to supplier-driven campaigns, data enrichment, and customer adoption initiatives.
4. Sales Strategy & Planning
- Support Account Executives in building regional sales strategies and account development plans.
- Ensure achievement of key sales metrics including pipeline growth, win rates, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor movements to proactively shape sales plays.
5. Leadership & Coaching
- Mentor and guide the sales team to build account-based selling capabilities.
- Coach peers and new team members; share prospecting strategies and pipeline building best practices.
- Champion collaboration across cross-functional teams to accelerate sales cycles.
Candidate Profile:
Education:
- Mandatory: Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Telecommunication Engineering
- Preferred: Master’s / PG Diploma in Business, Marketing, or related disciplines
Experience:
- 16+ years of progressive experience in sales/business development in Industrial Automation
- Previous P&L ownership or strong understanding of commercial terms and incoterms
- Proven track record of managing strategic OEM relationships (preferably Siemens)
Key Competencies:
- Deep domain knowledge of Industrial Automation – Factory and Process Automation
- Proficiency in Siemens’ product ecosystem and market positioning
- Strong grasp of commercial terms, pricing models, and deal structuring
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and executive presence
- CRM fluency and data-driven sales decision-making
- Self-motivated, agile, and results-oriented leader
- Collaborative, coach-like leader who uplifts and enables team success
