Finance and Compliance Expert (Founder's Office)

Overview:

We seek a dynamic Finance and Compliance Expert with a strong finance or taxation background and exceptional problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will leverage financial expertise and non-linear thinking to navigate complex deal structures and manage multi-step processes with precision. Proficiency in executing VC/PE deals, understanding SHA/SSA clauses, and overseeing FDD/LDD is essential, with the ability to deliver results under tight timelines.

This role involves structuring diverse investments, including unconventional deals, while optimizing costs, ensuring tax efficiency, and maintaining compliance. The candidate will enhance internal operations, manage MIS for a 300-company portfolio, and support decision-making on exits and new investments.

Deal Structuring & Execution

• Design and implement optimal deal structures, ensuring tax efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee and execute financial and legal due diligence (FDD and LDD) for prospective investments, meeting aggressive timelines.
• Lead negotiations and review of SHA/SSA agreements, ensuring alignment with organizational interests.

Portfolio Management & Reporting

• Build and manage systems to collect, analyze, and report operational and financial metrics for 300+ portfolio companies.
• Identify opportunities, risks, or irregularities, flagging them to the investment team early for swift action.
• Ensure timely and accurate internal reporting of portfolio company performance, enabling data-driven decisions.
• Monitor contractual agreements to ensure timely payments of advisory fees, royalties, or debt interests.

Exit Planning & Tax Efficiency

• Strategize and execute exits, leveraging innovative, tax-efficient methodologies.
• Actively collaborate with external advisors and internal stakeholders to optimize returns on exits.

Qualifications:

Educational Background: CA or MBA (Finance), with a demonstrated record of excellence in finance or taxation.

Experience:

• 5-7 years in finance, compliance, or deal structuring roles, with hands-on VC/PE deals exposure.
• Proven expertise in complex deal structuring, financial due diligence, and legal agreements.
• Strong understanding of multi-step financial processes and timelines.

Skills:

• Non-linear thinking and an ability to solve problems creatively under time constraints.
• Strong command over tax laws, cost implications, and regulatory frameworks for diverse investment structures.
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights.
