The Role

  • Develop and implement comprehensive SSD firmware test strategies tailored to support new features and functions, ensuring alignment with product requirements.
  • Establish clear and actionable gating criteria for firmware releases, driving improvements in test rigor and stability throughout key program milestones.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional program teams to manage qualification schedules, track deliverables, coordinate dependencies, and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Effectively allocate and oversee resources to ensure timely and high-quality execution of drive qualification projects and successful FW integration.

What You'll Do

  • Project Management: Drive comprehensive SSD firmware test management by defining and executing rigorous test strategies, establishing gating criteria, ensuring program stability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to oversee qualification schedules, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and resources for seamless feature integration and release quality.
  • Agile Leadership: Lead the team sprints, set sprint goals, manage the backlog, and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient and iterative development.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve the firmware team productivity and engineering development processes to enhance product quality and development speed.
  • Team Development: Manage team performance, conduct 1-on-1 meetings, provide timely feedback, and contribute to the professional growth and development of team members.

What You Bring

  • 12+ years of experience in SSD, storage, or embedded validation during product development, with 3+ years in technical leadership or management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware design, storage architectures, and interfaces (PCIe, NVMe, OCP), along with firmware architecture and flash technologies (MLC/SLC).
  • Skilled in Python/C/C++ programming and experienced in Agile development, CI/CD, and full product lifecycle management.
  • Proven track record in leading teams, developing talent, and driving productivity, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with a focus on analytical thinking and attention to detail.Consistently delivers projects on schedule while maintaining high standards of quality and execution.
