Job Description
As a Cucumber Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts using Cucumber and other related tools. You will work closely with developers, QA engineers, and product managers to ensure that our software products meet the highest quality standards. Your role will involve creating and executing test cases, identifying defects, and contributing to the overall improvement of our testing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cucumber in conjunction with other tools such as Selenium, Java and BDD.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into test scenarios.
Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Execute automated tests, analyze test results, and report defects using issue tracking systems.
Continuously improve and optimize test scripts and frameworks for efficiency and effectiveness.
Participate in sprint planning and review meetings to provide input on testability and quality assurance aspects.
Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in software testing and automation.
Required Skills And Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in automated testing using Cucumber, Selenium, or similar tools.
Strong knowledge of behavior-driven development (BDD) and test-driven development (TDD) principles.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Ruby, or Python.
Experience with version control systems such as Git.
Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and related tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with other automation tools such as TestNG and Unit
Knowledge of web services and API testing.
