Position Summary
Senior Analyst - Engagement Financial Operations – Partner ledger support Services- HYD The role of Partner ledger support Services
The Partner ledger support team (PLS) supports the P artners and engagement teams with engagement financial management, whilst providing insights relating to engagement financial risk and impacts on financial performance. We are seeking a highly skilled and professional team member who can excel in high-stress, partner-facing roles. This position demands exceptional communication abilities, particularly in managing interactions with senior personnel and partners.
The “Finance & Shared Services” team at Hyderabad supports the Deloitte organization in Australia with a wide variety of capabilities like management and financial reporting, accounts payable, debtor management, payroll, data quality, finance system support, IT services, Business Intelligence development, client and engagement acceptance, and client contract management activities.
In addition, we have other sub-teams under FSS which provides services related to Engagement financial operations. Engagement financial operations support Audit and Assurance, SRT, Tax & Legal and Tech and Transformation.

- Monitoring Partner ledger hygiene, highlighting DSO improvement opportunities and identifying potential exposures.
- Work with the Partners to address engagement financial queries, maintain visibility on high-risk engagements, and escalate when necessary.
- Providing strategic insights and implementing best practices. Help partners to understand and navigate DSO challenges and impacts.
- Working Capital Management and conducting 1:1 partner meeting for Partner ledger hygiene & opportunities
- Monitor lead indicators for predicting engagement distress, Line of sight on high-risk engagements in Partner Ledger
- Facilitate financial accountability and operational efficiency across the firm, by working closely with Business Finance, key Business Unit stakeholders, and other groups across the Enabling Areas
- Comprehensive firm-wide engagement support service to facilitate good engagement health, hygiene, and financial management across all engagements and client accounts.
- Analyzing My engagement dashboard and providing timely and relevant insights for better visibility of engagements.
- Post additional cost not previously applied to the engagement and additional work to the client.
- Attending engagement financial queries for DSO improvement opportunities and identifying exposures.
- Work as a Project Controller within the Partner ledger support Services team.
- PLS support will be provided through 1:1 partner meeting with each partner. The engagement life cycle change requests are submitted by the AU practitioners.
- Respond to email enquiries from the practice in relation to the engagement financial queries.
- Log request for any adjustment or code closures discussed in meeting for prompt and efficient code management.
- Follow-up if billing not raised as planned and flag potential exposure and take note of nature of credit WIP, the release plan and check its progress.
- Provide update on the debtor position and flag any long overdue invoices and impact from system auto-provision. The challenging debtors, PLS team to engage with Debtors team for direct client follow-up.
- PLS team to note special payment terms, if not reflecting correctly on the invoice log request to update.
- Cash allocation discrepancies for cash allocated to be liaise with Cash team to investigate and resolve.
- Review and monitor RPH and client margin month on month to identify significant variance and highlight potential engagement risks.
- Understand the business dynamics of the process and meet the expectation of AU stakeholders on a consistent basis.
- Requires professional interaction and communication, both within the Hyderabad office and Australian offices.
- Ownership of the tickets to be retained until closure, follow-ups to be made timely on the required tickets.
- Actively participate in all recurring weekly calls with leadership in Australia and provide quality inputs, which enables them to take business decisions.
- Attend training sessions for technical and personal development as necessary.
- Ensure that all the process related documents are referenced for process awareness and updates.
- Ensure to maintain agreed SLA’s with clients and independently manage specific deadlines.
- Effective Stakeholder Management: Engage effectively with partners during 1:1 meetings, ensuring clear communication and professionalism.
- Communication : Exhibit strong listening and conversational English skills to ensure clarity in all interactions.
- Financial Data Interpretation: Clearly interpret and explain basic financial data to partners.
- Feedback Documentation and Issue Escalation : Accurately document feedback during partner meetings and escalate issues when necessary.
- Professionalism: Maintain high standards of professional behaviour, particularly in managing and mitigating interruptions during 1:1 meetings, such as mobile phone distractions, and maintaining focus and control of the conversation.
- Pressure Management: Remain calm, focused, and productive under pressure.
- Adaptability: Flexible and able to adjust to changing circumstances and demands, showing resilience in the face of challenges.

- The individual should be able to do multi-tasking and must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines
- Able to work autonomously, highly self-motivated to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive in all communications - Ability to document and communicate the results of reviews in an efficient and effective manner
- Strong communication skills—both verbal and written and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate clearly with other team members
- Good telephonic skills as it is required to have weekly calls with various stakeholders. Candidates need to have client centric focus
- Good MS Excel skills is a must. Proficiency in data validation, logical functions in MS Excel, ability to analyze large data in Excel and should be in a position to design new reports in excel
- Basic PowerPoint skills is desirable
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow work programs with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to challenge the status quo and proactively identifies opportunities for improvement
- Shows initiative and is proactive in seeking resolution of issues and in learning the business of the Assurance & Advisory and Deloitte Australia
- The individual should be able to do the multi-tasking and must demonstrate the strong ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines
- Ability to adapt to changing work environment (shows flexibility), work under pressure with sense of urgency, and meet tight deadlines. The individual should be comfortable in working for long hours during the peak period. The team has the peak period during month ends, wherein the individuals have to work under strict timelines. This is primarily due to the nature of the business
- Postgraduate/Graduate (B. Com, BA, BBA) with Financial Background and strong analytical skills
- 3-6 years of experience is preferred
- Good Excel skills and strong computer skills
- Team player with a positive attitude, strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
