Electrical Power System Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Power System Engineer with strong expertise in ETAP (Electrical Transient Analyzer Program). In this role, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and maintenance of electrical power systems for industrial and commercial projects. Responsibilities

Power System Modeling and Analysis: Create, refine, and validate power system models using ETAP (load flow analysis, short-circuit, arc flash, stability, relay coordination).

System Design and Planning: Develop conceptual and detailed engineering designs for electrical systems, including one-line diagrams, bus layouts, and equipment specifications.

Technical Studies and Reporting: Conduct various engineering studies (protection, reliability, power quality, and contingency planning) and compile results into clear technical reports or presentations.

Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all designs and systems conform to relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, NEC, local regulations).

Collaborative Work: Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Sales engineers, project management) and external stakeholders (clients, vendors) to ensure seamless project delivery.

Continuous Improvement: Stay current with technological advancements in electrical systems and ETAP software; recommend and implement process improvements.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

• Proven industry experience (3+ years) in electrical power system design and analysis.
• Demonstrated proficiency in ETAP (experience with load flow, fault analysis, coordination, and arc flash studies).

Technical Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of protective relaying schemes, switchgear design, and substation layout.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (IEEE/IEC/NEC).
• Proficiency in using engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar) is a plus.
