Senior Editor Role:
Role Summary:
A detail-oriented position focused on providing direct editorial support to students throughout their college application journey. The role emphasizes building strong student relationships while delivering high-quality guidance for application documents. Reports directly to the Writing Program Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide direct editorial consultation to assigned students throughout their application cycle.
· Guide students through College Essays, CVs, SoPs, and Summer School applications.
· Conduct regular one-on-one meetings for consistent writing progress.
· Create engaging website content on college applications and industry trends.
· Ensure all edited content maintains quality standards.
· Collaborate with the Writing Program Manager to align with program objectives.
Required Qualifications:
· 2+ years of relevant editorial experience
· Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred
· Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated student rapport
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Grammarly
· Experience in academic writing and college application essays
Selection Process:
· Submit a draft and edited version of a 500-word sample piece (non-technical)
· Updated résumé
· Editorial assessment
· Interview with the Writing Program Manager
Junior Editor Role:
Role Summary:
An entry-level position focused on collaborating with senior editorial and mentoring teams to assist students with their essays. The role requires strong English language and storytelling skills to help refine student essays while ensuring adherence to college application requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with senior editors and mentoring teams to edit student essays.
· Assist in the delivery and improvement of the in-house editorial program.
· Provide constructive feedback to develop student writing skills.
· Ensure edited content meets CollegeLab's quality standards.
· Write blogs and articles related to foreign application processes.
Required Qualifications:
· Undergraduate degree required
· Excellent editing, writing, and communication skills in English
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office
· Prior experience in creative/academic writing preferred
Selection Process:
· Submit a 300–500-word piece on a social science or humanities subject
· Updated résumé
· Editorial assessment
· Interview with the Writing Program Manager
