Your impact

We are seeking a seasoned Civil Discipline Lead with a strong background in Transportation and Highway Engineering to lead and coordinate civil design efforts across the metal & mining sector. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in OpenRoads, Civil 3D, and general civil support for the Metals and Mining industry, along with proven leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and driving project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage civil engineering design activities for mining & metal industry, with a focus on the ANZ region.
  • Act as Design Coordinator for ANZ projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations, project timelines, and quality standards.
  • Provide general civil support for projects in the Metals and Mining industry, including site development, access roads, and infrastructure planning.
  • Utilize tools such as OpenRoads Designer and AutoCAD Civil 3D for design and documentation.
  • Manage and mentor a team of civil engineers and designers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
  • Oversee team billability, resource allocation, and coordination with multiple Project Managers (PMs).
  • Support recruitment efforts, onboarding, and team development initiatives.
  • Drive business acumen through strategic resource engagement, training programs, and skills upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with local standards, codes, and regulations across all project phases.


Here's what you'll need

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 14 to 20 years of experience in Transportation/Highway Engineering.
  • At least 5 years in a team lead or discipline lead role, preferably with exposure to the ANZ region.
  • Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer, Civil 3D, and other relevant civil design software.
  • Strong understanding of civil design principles for mining and industrial projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in team management, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience in managing multi-location teams and working in a matrix organization.
  • Familiarity with project delivery models in the ANZ region.
  • Ability to support recruitment and talent acquisition processes.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on team development and upskilling.
