FanCode is ready to take its sports content platform to the global stage, and as the Director of Global Expansion, you will lead the way in establishing FanCode’s presence in high-potential markets worldwide.In this crucial role, you will identify the markets, untapped opportunities, craft tailored market strategies, and build impactful partnerships to bring FanCode’s vision to life. By delivering localised, fan-first experiences, you will play a key role in shaping FanCode’s journey to becoming a global leader in sports engagement.

Your Role

  • Market Research & Feasibility Assessment: Evaluate high-potential market opportunities based on factors such as internet penetration, content trends, economic conditions, competition, and local consumer behavior, cultural preferences, and regulatory environments, while working with research teams to provide clear, data-driven insights
  • Market Entry Strategy: Explore market entry approaches such as direct investment, joint ventures, partnerships, while exploring collaborations with local distributors (e.g., telcos, ISPs, device manufacturers, payment providers, etc) to accelerate entry
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and execute tailored go-to-market strategies for new markets, including market positioning, user acquisition, content localisation, and partnership
  • Partnership: Lead relationships with key partners, negotiating terms and structuring deals to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes that align with FanCode’s strategic goals and drive growth in target markets
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (content, marketing, legal, finance, product & tech) to ensure alignment of market expansion strategies with overall business objectives

Must-Have

  • Minimum 10-12 years experience in Corporate Strategy and leading market entry initiatives/ international expansion of media products.
  • Preferably in Asia Pacific or EU region, with some exposure to digital
  • A Sports fan, with strong understanding of industry trends in the Sports industry
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically. Adept at making data-driven decisions
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership and collaborate across teams
  • People oriented and affable, should have an aptitude to keep pace in a dynamic environment
