Job Title: Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer with 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in plastic parts development within the automobile industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive working experience in CATIA, particularly in GSD, Part Modelling, Drawing, and Assembly. The role involves independent design of brackets (plastics) for automobile components, including electrical and electronic modules.

Responsibilities

• Independently design brackets for automobile components, including electrical and electronic modules.
• Perform benchmarking studies and packaging studies of automobile components, defining their locations in the vehicle.
• Utilize knowledge in harness design and packaging of electrical and electronic components.
• Apply good design knowledge in plastic parts using CATIA.
• Decide manufacturing feasibility, including tooling knowledge, assembly, and service feasibility.
• Communicate effectively with overseas customers, program stakeholders, and suppliers.
  
  

Essential Skills

• 3 to 6 years of experience in plastic parts development for automobiles.
• Proficiency in CATIA (GSD, Part Modelling, Drawing, and Assembly).
• Strong communication skills to handle overseas customers, program stakeholders, and suppliers.
  
  

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in 3DX is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of harness design and packaging of electrical and electronic components.
• Proficiency in Teamcenter Engineering and Vis mockup.
• Knowledge of vehicle architecture, vehicle aggregate groups, sub-groups, systems, and sub-systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Highly committed and motivated with self-starting capabilities.
  
  

Work Environment

The work environment involves designing plastic parts for automobile components using advanced software tools such as CATIA and Teamcenter Engineering. The role requires effective communication with international stakeholders and the ability to work independently in a dynamic setting.
