Data Product Manager

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and driven Data Platform Product Manager with 4–5 years of product management experience to lead the development of our Data Governance products, including Data Lineage, Data Catalog, and Metadata Management. This role is critical to ensuring data discoverability, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across the organization.

You will work closely with data engineers, architects, data governance teams, and business stakeholders to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for data governance products that empower teams to use data responsibly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Product Vision & Strategy: Define and own the product vision and strategy for Data Governance capabilities, aligned with organizational data platform goals.
• Roadmap Planning: Develop and maintain the product roadmap for data lineage, catalog, classification, and related governance tools.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Gather, prioritize, and align requirements from data owners, governance leads, compliance, engineering, and analytics teams.
• Feature Design: Translate user and business needs into detailed product requirements, specifications, and user stories for engineering teams.
• Delivery Management: Work with engineering and program to manage the end-to-end product lifecycle — from concept to delivery.
• User Engagement: Conduct customer discovery interviews and usability testing to validate product direction and enhance user experience.
• Go-to-Market: Collaborate with enablement teams to ensure successful rollout and adoption of features, including documentation, training, and communications.
• Data Governance Advocacy: Champion best practices for metadata standards, lineage tracking, data ownership, and stewardship.
• Feedback Loop: Establish continuous feedback mechanisms to monitor user adoption, platform performance, and feature utilization.
• Compliance Awareness: Understand regulatory needs (e.g., DPDPA, GDPR, HIPAA) to ensure product features support compliance and audit requirements.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 4–5 years of product management experience, preferably in data platforms or enterprise software.
• Experience working on data governance tools such as data catalogs, data lineage platforms, or metadata management solutions.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks, metadata standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong understanding of data ecosystem (data lakes, warehouses, pipelines) and governance challenges.
• Ability to translate complex data and governance needs into usable, scalable product solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, especially in cross-functional environments.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Figma).
