Uber

Date: 3 weeks ago
City: Hyderabad, Telangana
Contract type: Full time
About The Team

Community Operations is the heart and soul of our #BuildWithHeart approach at Uber. We work with customers, people earning money on the platform and partners at enormous scale. Community Operations helps operationalise every new and existing product and idea that Uber comes up with - it's an organisation that touches every part of Uber!

About The Role

At Uber, providing world-class support that builds trust with riders, drivers, and partners is core to our product experience. The Global Planning, Strategy, and Analytics (GPSA) team plays a critical role in understanding Community Operations (CommOps) and optimizing its impact.

Within GPSA, the Support Operations Analytics (SOPA) Network Analytics team pioneers how we manage global BPO partner support data and transform it into actionable insights. To advance this mission, we are hiring a Data Analyst II (Forecasting & Strategic Initiatives). In this role, you will help reimagine how we forecast demand, manage reporting, and generate strategic insights that shape Uber's customer experience.

Your Impact in Role

  • Maintain and enhance an internally developed forecasting tool (developed on python base with streamlit frontend) by leveraging advanced data science techniques.
  • Apply advanced forecasting models and analytics methods (e.g., time series, causal modeling, machine learning approaches) to predict demand and provide forward-looking insights that guide long-term planning.
  • Design and develop leadership-level and operational data products (using Tableau/Looker/streamlit etc) that democratize insights across the organization. Create dashboards, reports, and self-service tools that empower stakeholders at all levels, from executives to front-line teams, to make informed decisions and track performance against strategic goals.
  • Independently manage end-to-end analytics projects, from problem definition to execution and delivery. Develop clear roadmaps, align stakeholders on scope, and drive timely execution, while ensuring transparency through crisp, consistent communication at every stage.
  • Partner with program managers and business leaders to go beyond surface-level metrics, uncovering not just the what but the why behind Uber's most pressing customer experience challenges. Bring analytical rigor to root-cause analysis and ensure findings directly inform operational and strategic improvements.

The Experience You'll Bring

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in business analytics, data science, business intelligence, or related fields (experience in high-growth or startup environments strongly preferred).
  • Strong grounding in core data science concepts: supervised/unsupervised learning, feature engineering, model evaluation.
  • Proficiency in time-series forecasting methods (e.g., ARIMA, Prophet) and designing scalable data models.
  • Hands-on experience operationalizing data science models (deployment, monitoring, optimization).
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Proficiency in visualization tools like Tableau/PowerBI/Looker/Streamlit
  • Strong statistical and experimentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decisions through data storytelling and insights.
  • Familiarity with Agile sprint management tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Self-starter with proven ability to independently manage projects and prescribe analytical frameworks.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience building data pipelines and designing tables.
  • Experience leading a team of analysts.
  • Experience collaborating closely with data engineering teams.
  • Experience working in highly matrixed, cross-functional environments.
  • Growth mindset with long-term aspirations to build and scale teams.
  • Understanding of customer support data
