Consultant - Management Consulting

Summary

This position is part of Business Transformation Solutions (BTS) team within Global Business Solution (GBS) organization , with focus on transformation and execution – bringing strategy to life. We work supporting strategic programs across the whole company. 100+ associates in Hyderabad dedicating 98% of our effort on Novartis’ strategic projects as part of BTS Consulting team. We focus on transformation and implementation consulting, bringing Novartis’ strategy to life through execution across business units and functional areas.

Our aspiration is to make the highest impact to help Novartis reimagine medicine. We blend different transformation capabilities in support of these programs. These capabilities include: Project management, Change management, Integration & Separation support, and Operating model design support.

The role will work with a diverse internal customer base (globally), consulting senior management team (India and globally) and GBS leadership team (globally) to identify, pursue, and execute strategic global company-wide transformative engagements.

About The Role

Role Responsibilities include:

Delivering Excellence On Projects

• Consultant is responsible for coordination within the consulting engagement in the areas of handling work streams, providing project execution and planning support and following up on action items
• He/she prepares program workshops independently, ensures open and timely communication in the team and with third parties (if required), ensures deliverables are ready, in high quality and delivered timely to the right partners
• He/she ensures that the solution is developed using multiple information sources (including stakeholder inputs) and implemented according to the relevant project methodology and approach agreed with stakeholders
• He/she ensures that deliverables are prepared within the relevant project delivery methodology and project risks are managed, wherever required
• Consultant is also expected to start building and managing relationships with stakeholders in mid-level leadership position
  
  

Leading Delivery Of Client Outcomes

• Consultant assumes responsibility of quality for his tasks and ensures suitable alignment with the stakeholders and internal delivery teams
• He/she needs to deliver workstreams of high quality with supervision from his tenured project team members to achieve successful outcomes, within the planned budget and timeline
• He/she is expected to support, organize and sustain own workload to support efficient and effective working of the team
• He/she contributes towards effective collaboration and effective ways of working in the project
  
  

Contribute to improve the practice

• Takes proactive part in initiatives to expand consulting solutions, enhance existing consulting tools & frameworks, augment teams’ technical and professional skills
• They are expected to live by consulting teams' cultural aspiration and coach others on our company and consulting team values and behaviors and code of ethics
• They support management of the project portfolio through regular status reporting and stakeholder management updates
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• 3-6 years of business transformation experience leading small to medium complexity projects
• Demonstrated core consulting skills of analysis, top-down thinking, and presentation
• Aptitude to learn and develop new concepts/frameworks and adapt ways of working accordingly
• Excellence in soft skills to effectively work with diverse set of senior stakeholders in the organization

Desired Experience

• Previous work experience in at least 2 of the following areas: Change Management, Project and Program Management, Operating Model Design, Process Optimization, M&A support (diligence, post-merger integration), Agile, and Design Thinking
• Previous work experience in management consulting
