Job Summary:

As a Category Manager Indirect Material you will be responsible to manage the procurement activities for various non-manufacturing related goods and services. The role requires strong expertise in sourcing, negotiation, contract management, vendor management, and cost optimization across categories such as Manpower resources, Logistics, IT, PPE, facility lease services, Capex and general administration. The role requires you to collaborate across the functions. Maintain techno commercial documentation, identify risks, and adapt to new technologies.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Manpower & Resource Services

  • Source and manage third-party staffing agencies and contractual service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal HR policies.
  • Monitor service quality and contract performance.

Facilities & Fleet Management

  • Manage contracts for company fleet, including leasing, maintenance, and services.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Procure services for facility maintenance, housekeeping, security, and utilities.

Logistics & Warehouse Contracts

  • Negotiate and manage contracts for transportation, warehousing, Packaging Material and distribution services.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to service standards.
  • Optimize logistics costs and support supply chain efficiency.

CapEx Procurement

  • Handle procurement for capital equipment and infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with finance and project teams for budgeting and approvals.
  • Ensure timely delivery and installation of CapEx items.

IT & Technology Procurement

  • Manage procurement of hardware, software, licenses, and IT services.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to understand technical requirements and vendor capabilities.
  • Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements (SLAs) with IT vendors.

General Procurement Compliances

  • Lead end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, negotiation, order placement, fulfillment, and supplier performance to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and other departments to proactively resolve material-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with Emerson’s processes, including Business Ethics, International Trade Compliance, and business unit guidelines.
  • Maintain detailed procurement records to support spend analysis, audits, performance reviews, benchmarking, and scorecard reporting.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Strong negotiation, contract management and communication skills
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement tools and MS Office tools
  • Well conversant with Direct/Indirect Taxation, VAT, GST etc
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, ERP (Oracle/SAP) tools
  • Analytical mindset with attention to details

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in indirect procurement, preferably in a project business and multinational environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
